The North American MartyrsI just got back from a pilgramage to the National Shrine of the North American Martyrs.

I had a chance to walk the same paths that Sts. Isaac Jogues, Rene Goupil and John DeLalande tread bringing Jesus to the Mohawk Indians.

I saw the place where the martyred body of St. Renee Goupil was left to be eaten by animals before most of him was found by St. Isaac Jogues.

After all the jokes I've made about Jesuits in the past, these Saints are a grim reminder of the bravery and holiness of the Jesuit order throughout the ages.

All in all, an inspirational experience.
