I'm not sure I could be "that guy" but I would enjoy every minute of watching him set things straight... while at the same time being completely mortified that someone was "rocking the boat."
I guess I am an a-typical DRE. The 170 or so 1st Communicants I helped further along on their walk with the Lord were fully trained in the traditional and proper ways to receive Jesus. Did they all do it? No. Many were very nervous - this being one of their first masses. You can tell the kids who attend mass weekly and those whose parents could give a flip.
Each of the kids was to make a banner to be hung at the end of their pew. A mom called to see if she could bring her kid's banner in (late). I was leaving early for the day and told her she could drop it off in the church office. She had no idea where it was and was not really sure where the church (sanctuary) was.
